I still love TVB..

Ch U has a new 10pm show called Revolving Doors of Vengeance.. It's a TVB show about hotels that I've watched twice already.. But the 1st episode already shows how bad the research has been for the show.. E.g. Hotel does not reach 100% occupancy, who does the GM blame? Marketing..

Muahaha.. Feel like laughing sia.. You don't blame Marketing for lack of occupancy lah.. They are just in charge of major bookings for impt events and ppl.. The main person you should blame is Revenue.. Muahaha..

Anyway, I still love TVB.. Two brand new shows just came up.. And I have that research paper to complete.. It's not as easy as it seems..

Heartfelt Apologies..

Yes.. I'm so sorry to Cherie and Wei Lun for making you for wait so aimlessly for that 1 hour.. I cannot express my most heartfelt apologies more than this anymore.. It was just dumb of us to enter that office in that 1st place.. And to not tell the person that we had an appointment.. It's just this stupid timid character of mine that really drives people and myself mad at times..

I don't dare to rebutt people and that's why I'm so two-faced at times.. I will just agree to anybody and don't have thoughts of my own.. That's why I entered that office and don't dare to tell the person and don't even dare to answer the phonecalls.. But believe me, I really meant no harm to anybody.. Sometimes I really hate this Type A personality of mine.. Really..

Back to GV to tender in my resignation and to return all my uniforms, locker keys and nametags.. I left 2 organizations officially within 2 days.. Both held many memories for me.. Good and Bad.. Both will be terribly missed.. =( Bye Bye GV!

Dinner with some Sisters from a church in Vietnam.. My mum's volunteer mission.. I was like.. lost? Haha.. But they were really nice.. Asking me lots of questions about my future.. Something I do not want to tell the truth about for now.. Haha.. Shhh..

Tml's lec will be on Aeroplanes.. Whoo.. It's a guest lecture so it's not really compulsory but I want to aim to be a good girl in my last sem and go for lec.. Haha.. Crap.. I know.. Lunch with the Orangs followed by KBOX with 307.. Library on Thur to dig up info on Themeparks.. I'm so gonna die.. Why am I interested in such stuff? Haha.. That's a mystery to be solved another day..

Went back to MM with Wei Lun for clearance today.. Run to like so many places.. To Training Centre to collect the clearance form then to FO to let Mark sign.. Emilyn gave me a pressie along with this very very sweet card.. Signed off as "Your most hated trainer, Emilyn Peng".. Haha.. Aww.. Thanks ah.. And I think it's becos I'm not around that's why she's on MC on Sat and Late today.. Haha..

Then to Security to sign another form stating areas which I will be restricted from now on.. =( And I didn't return my access cards.. Oops.. Shh.. Following which was to clear my locker.. To Housekeeping to state that I've returned all my uniform and shoes.. Up to HR to return my nametag, staff ID and lock.. Finally back to Training Center to get the final signature.. Pop over to Reservations to say my final farewell.. I'm like so gonna miss this department.. =( Bumped into Amanda and Anilia again.. 5 mths pass damn fast lah..

Last stop of the day: FINANCE!! Money money money! But... your pay will only be mailed to you dunno when later.. Sianz.. Walked to Lucky Plaza to help my maid to collect her passport and work permit.. Pizza Hut for lunch.. Seemed that there was like so much food lah.. The crappy photoshop at Lucky Plaza wanted to charge us $15 for book binding.. Bloody $15 lehz.. TP charges like $1.50 lah.. Crazy man.. I mean who charges $15 for book binding?!

Moved back to Tampines officially today.. I'm going to miss my Great-Grandma and Snoopy greatly.. Snoopy is a lonely dog.. =( Packed up a million stuff and threw out a million too.. Well, not exactly threw out lah.. More like donated to people in Vietnam.. Just a call out.. If you have any clothes for babies, pls contact me asap.. My mum's going to Vietnam very soon and bringing all those stuff over.. They have lots of stuff for young children and adults already but none for babies..

Watched the GuessX3 show and today's topic was on Branded goods.. The 1st contestant got her 1st branded bag in Primary 1.. I'm flabberghasted as well.. The 4th one bought branded LV dices.. Yup.. The ones that u see at casinos.. Nbz.. Some ppl don't even have $$ for food lah..

So tired now.. But I gotta complete the portfolio cos I swore that I will cut my hair and do some serious shopping tml..

Shalalala.. The air outside of Meritus Mandarin has never smelt so much fresher.. It's called FREEDOM! I'm finally free of this overbooked, revenue-crazed, mindblowing, nonstop hotel.. The hotel has left with me with too many memories and experiences.. The colleagues there are super fun and all but the higher management is thumbs down..


Sze Min and I made a pact to throw out the red lipstick right after SIP has ended.. But we hadn't because there were lots of bittersweet memories there.. We were containing our excitement before scanning our cards for the last time ever.. The moment they was scanned, it was Hallelujah! People thot we were crazy.. Haha..


Anyway, so it's 2 more days of OFF before school officially starts on Monday again.. We'll have to go back to MM once again for clearance.. Damn.. It's gonna be a busy busy month but it'll be all over soon.. =D


My head's throbbing now.. I slept for only 3 hours last night thinking that I'll be damn energetic seeing that today's my last day.. Haha.. Serves me right..

No more Nail Polish

I was so sleepy, I forgot to cap my nail polish and it all spilled out.. =( Now I have no nail polish for work.. Dratz.. I hope I don't get caught..

Anyway, a million thanks to Li Shujun Sandy for exchanging shifts with me.. I'll prob wun survive these 5 months without this pal to help me through.. Thanks again.. And I'm ending SIP in 2 days time.. FYI, I've nv regretted joining Meritus Mandarin but I don't think I'll return to that hotel..

RIP Ah Foo..

My dog, Ah Foo died this morning.. The maid found him lifeless and stiff.. He wouldn't eat last night and kept looking at my Great-Grandma (his real owner) while she was sleeping.. I guess he just wanted to tell her that he was leaving.. My other dog, Snoopy was behaving rather funny last night as well.. She kept doing the "Dead" pose whenever I went to her.. Guess she was trying to tell me something too.. Uncle Steven came and picked up Ah Foo up for cremation at Mount Pleasant Animal Hospital..

Oh well, I guess this is life.. They come and go all the time.. I patted Ah Foo for the last time last night.. And said my last goodbyes before he was brought away..

RIP Ah Foo.. You'll always be missed..

Work was okie today.. I'm glad I have a bunch of great colleagues who believed that I was being sabo-ed.. I checked in only 3 rooms today.. =p Finally done with the Project and Portfolio.. And it's my last week next week! I found a new part time job too! But I still dunno when I can join them.. =(

My hamster died this morning.. =( It's been with me for 8 months le.. It's the first ever critter that I kept that didn't die of funny reasons..

P.S 1st hampster died of a broken leg, 2nd hampster died of a swollen eye, 3rd mouse died of a cancerous growth, 4th hampster climbed my balcony grills and dropped down from 10th storey.. I kept 2 other gerbils too but I forgot what happened to them..

Oh well.. Rest in peace dear critters.. Good bye Kimtaro.. You'll be missed..

Waiting and Dreaming..

The desire to work in Disneyland is strongly burning inside of me again.. The place is like ecstasy I tell you.. Seriously addicted.. Haha.. I could work whole day shifts I tell you.. The mornings would be spent walking about the grounds seeing the happy faces on people and the nights would be spent in anticipation for the Fireworks Parade.. Ooh.. What a wonderful place to be!

Okie.. Back to reality.. It'll be at least a few more years before I'm even able to reach that dream.. =) I'll be waiting and dreaming..

Amber's Baby Averlyn's 1 Month Baby Shower today.. Had such a time choosing the present.. Haha.. I'm clueless to what babies need lah.. Hope you like the present Ah Ma.. =D Meeting time with Edwin, Yanqi and Vik was supposed to be at 330pm.. The earliest arrived at 4pm and the latest at 5pm.. Haha.. I love the glutinous rice lah.. Had 2 servings.. Haha.. And the 220 pieces of cupcakes! Wen An had 5 pieces lah.. I had 2 cos they were too pretty to eat and the glutinous rice was acting up.. Haha.. Carried the little baby and took pictures.. Waiting for Wayne and Amber to send them now.. And I didn't spot Averlyn's name inthe cupcakes lah.. I thot they were just random alphabets.. Haha..

I chiong-ed my portfolio and project today.. Brain dead now.. Working tml again.. Left like 11 days? Whoo-pee!

T3!

I went to T3 for lunch today.. It looks more like a shopping centre than an airport lah.. There's no electricity for the lights because everything's natural lighting.. I thot that was rather clever however my father said it was dumb because that means that they would have to spend extra energy on the air cons cooling the glass covered T3.. Hmm.. Makes sense too.. Haha..

And I drove the car to many places too! First back to Hai Sing to pick up my sister and got laughed at by one uncle because I couldn't park the car.. =P Then drove to the airport and parked at the Brand New T3 carpark and back home again.. My second sister was sick so I drove her to the clinic and back home again..

It's a hotel that would die without trainees.. With a screwed-up DOR who uses the GM to pressurize ppl.. It wasn't easy for me to get into FO.. I applied, got disappointed, went through my LO, waited for another 2 more weeks before I finally got a chance to go up..

I finally had a chance to learn new things.

I don't want to go back to Reservations.

I will be back at Reservations for 2 extra days due to a special request from Raffles who has to go through the GM to get a trainee back into a department.. My flabber is ghasted.. It was supposed to be for the rest of my SIP but thank my lucky stars aka PH & AL, I only have to go back for 2 days.. But like whatever..

I received something to add into my portfolio today.. =) Wonder how can I photocopy it? It'll be like so paiseh.. And it's not like I did anything big.. I just happen to recognise that person.. Haha.. The world works in mysterious ways..

Emilyn checked in Fei Lun Hai on her last day of SIP.. So envious.. Haha.. Not like I'm crazy over them.. Just that's its something to be proud about.. A chance you can never use money to buy.. Haha..

Move house..

I moved house today.. From B2 to Lvl 5.. The new home is really dotz.. By the way, home means locker.. Haha.. The guys and girls are sharing a COMMON locker room now which used to be a Japanese Restaurant.. Meaning, no stripping and changing on the spot.. Equals to trouble since we've only 4 cubicles in each toilet.. Luckily, mine is located in a private room where there are only girls.. Hopefully..

A guest left a bottle of Caviar in his room yesterday.. The housekeeping staff said they threw it away and wanted to know the brand to replace it.. IMO, it was right of them to throw the caviar.. Why? Because, caviar is raw seafood.. If it was kept and goes bad and the guest ends up with a tummyache, it would be disastrous.. Even though it's abit heart breaking.. 110g of Caviar costs $224.. I'll prob kill myself for not remembering to take the caviar out of the fridge before checking out.. Here's a pic of the delicate thing.. You've probably seen them on top of Siew Mai and Sushi before..

Almost late for classroom session today.. Forgot to set alarm.. Oops! Mr. Zainal showed us some portfolios from ex- students and one of them contained a project done by my trainer! Haha.. Pro eh? He then conducted this exiting interview garnering feedback about our SIP companies.. On the whole, I would actually rate 10/10 for SIP @ MM because if you can survive MM, you can survive any other hotel.. According to Mr. Zainal.. Haha..

Following that, we had a lecture on our last subject at school.. We're only supposed to go to school for 1 lecture and a 20 mins tutorial every week.. Haha.. Meaning, I have time to work.. Feel like working at the Singapore Flyer there.. So random right? Job hunt on the go.. Ate with the Orangs at Marina Square's Kenny Rogers.. Shaun drove a car that he rented for $134.. But he couldn't tompang all of us..

Back to work tml again.. I feel so guilty about an incident at work.. Guess I'm gonna do my own follow- up with the travel agency and the guest even if it means I have to call to Japan and mail stuff over..

Met this cute couple- Austrailian Husband and Indonesian Wife.. We asked if they wanted a King Size bed or 2 single beds.. And the guy replied very humourously, "Of cos we'll take the twin beds.. We're brother and sister right? Muahahahahahahahahaha...." On the spot, Sandy, Marie and I were laughing our guts out right in front of the guests.. It was so so funny.. The guest couldn't stop laughing either..

Anyway, I'm back to my TVB craze.. So happy! Heading to Poh Kim later to purchase the TVB 2008 calendar.. And I'm currently hooked on Survivor's Law II.. Oohlala..

The story of the missing $1000 note.. A guest I checked out paid for her bill in cash.. $3750 in total of 55 $50 notes and 1 $1000 note.. Wah.. Carry around like that, kana rob die le.. So while closing cashier, I went around asking if any of the staff had $1000 notes for me to change with them.. Jocelyn had 8 pieces so I gave her 20 pieces of $50 and went to Cindy immediately cos she had money too.. Kerry came out and told me she had $1000 note too.. Jocelyn then gave me a $1000 note but I told her that I had changed enuff.. So was tallying the money when suddenly realised that I was short of $1000.. Major freak out! Turns out, the $1000 Jocelyn wanted to give me was mine in the 1st place.. But I rejected it unknowingly.. Haha.. She was going, "See lor.. Give you money don't want.. Now panic liaoz.. Hahaha.."
