Los Angeles 9- 11 Nov 2009!

Hello all!

OK! I'm back with the Los Angeles entry. Again, pictures all from my Facebook as I'm at work now. =X

Day 4- 9 Nov 2009

A very short flight less than an hour from San Francisco. Never ever going to take Prime Time Shuttle again. We had to wait for at least 20 mins for our van to come and the driver got lost and couldn't find our hotel. -.-'

Reached the hotel around 10am but the room was ready for us. Beautiful property seeing that it is 80 years old! The key pouch was what made me go WOW. The rest of the furnishings are all standard Four Seasons so nothing to complain. But the pillow was definitely better.

Very classy hotel as well. Just look at the top left picture. That's the lobby. And it is right in the heart of Beverly Hills where Rodeo Drive is. So all the rich tai tais don't have to wear out their Pradas and Guccis. Hahaha.

Furthemore, they provided a house car service that takes you anywhere within a 3 mile radius of the hotel. So we made use of this service to take us to The Grove.

Came back for the real shopping only at night. Our main motive was just to take a bus on the street to Hollywood.

And tadah! Since I've been to LA before, I was their "official" tour guide. I even saw my tour guide on the streets but of course, he wouldn't recognise me. Hahaha.

Some of the more popular people on the Walk of Fame. Did you know? To have your name on the walk, you need to be famous in at least 1 kind of media (Radio, TV, Film & Music) for at least 5 years and contribute $25,000?

Taking this hint from my tour guide last time, we went into the Hollywood & Highland Center to see the Hollywood sign from afar. This is the best spot to actually view it without having to drive up to it. So future LA go-ers, please take note. Although, the sign is still very far. See the picture on the right? If you squint hard enough at the centre, you may just see the sign. LOL.

Walked over next door to the Kodak Theatre.

And then further next door over to the Chinese's Grauman Theatre. Sorry for the lack of pictures and all. Super duper lazy and you can refer to my January entries for more LA info.

Took a bus back to the Grove for more shopping and called for the house car to come pick us up. This time it was a Rolls Royce! Prob my first and only time to ever ride in one. The driver was super duper cute. Your typical friendly uncle.

Day 5- 10 Nov 2009

Pre-bought tickets to Universal Studios the next day. Kinda inaccessible from our hotel. Had to take bus followed by the metro followed by a shuttle.

The red carpet entrance is for show only. We had to enter via a little gate on the right.

The park was super duper empty that day. Most of the rides were between a 5- 10 min wait. Hahaha. I felt that The Mummy ride here was scarier than the one in Orlando. Backdraft was cool. The Simpsons was funny. Haha.

My number 1. Haha. Love this ride to bits.

Lunch at this really cool Flintstones BBQ place.

This has got to be coolest attraction in the whole of Universal Studios Hollywood. It was a 45min "Studio Tour" that brought us to replicas of some movie sets. From broken bridges to race cars being set on fire to flash floods to a shark bursting out of the water to a plane wreck.

Haha, how could us Wyoming-ers miss out of these saloon doors? I love being cheeky.

Shrek 4-D. I think that was the 4th or 5th time I've seen this show. No, seriously. But it still amazes me everytime. Haha.

We actually stood and waited for Spongebob to appear at 3pm. LOL.

The very interesting Animal Show.

And of course, how could one miss out on Waterworld in Universal Studios? Haha, the effects were superb. And not to mention that guy who has a water gun in his right hand. For the pre-show entertainment, he would shoot people with it then looked somewhere else and pretended it wasn't him. Once, he even pretended to sneeze and shoot a lady at the same time!

Wow. These pictures actually came out rather tiny here. Anyway, they are actually the characters that we met. I even got autographs from all of them. Going to print the photos and stick them in the book. =) Happy memories.

Ended the night at Universal Citywalk. Waited for at least 45 mins for the shuttle back. Slept real early that night and we checked out at 430am the next morning. Had to get to the train station for our Amtrak to Anaheim.

Day 6- 11 Nov 2009

The Front Desk staff were nice enough to let us check in at the ungodly timing of 7am. Being in this line myself, that is definitely something quite impossible. Haha. The room was as expected, very Disney-ish. Stole the toiletries.

Explored the hotel a bit before heading over to Disneyland. A pity we couldn't stay longer. The facilities were amazing.

Haha, all the badges and cards collected that day. It was Veteran's Day. The crowd. My goodness. The queues.

The first two rides we took. Haha, I dunno why but whenever I visit Disneyland, I would definitely start in Tomorrowland. ALWAYS.
The rest of the Tomorrowland rides.

No sun. =( If not the pictures would look even prettier.

Some little statues surrounding the Walt Disney statue. Love the Pinocchio one. Very storytelling.

Sleeping Beauty castle in its full Christmas glory. It was so pretty at night with all the lights and all.

The bloody churros costs $3 but it was so worth it. Hahaha.

The Haunted Mansion Holiday. It was like a mix of Halloween & Christmas.

I just had to take that picture of Eeyore and that boy.

Me so brave. =D

Lunch at the Plaza Inn. Superb. But we missed the character greetings.

Walked through the Sleeping Beauty Castle.

The shortest and most "waste my time" q-ing ride of all. Hahah.

Fantasyland.

My first ever visit to Mickey's Toon Town. I felt old. LOL.

Main Street USA.

Rushed over to Disney's Californian Adventure. We got there a little too late. Most of the rides were like a 45 min wait.

Haha, got wet on this. But it was crazily fun.

Wanted so badly to go on California Screamin' but no one wanted to go with me. =(

But I did go on the Maliboomer all alone. Hahaha.

Ended the day with the Bug's Life 3D movie and the Pixar Play Parade.

Rushed back to Disneyland for the 7pm Celebrate! A Street Party parade followed by the river fireworks show, Fantasmic. All videos can be found below.

The characters we met that day. Pretty satisfied actually. Got to meet Mickey at last. Very lazy to explain each meeting so please just refer to my Facebook for the captions. LOL.

Ok, finally done. Next up will be the San Diego entry.
