Crazy Jet Setter Part 2!

Hello all!

Part 2! Two updates in a day! What a record. Haha.

So, touched down in Singapore and the family was there! =) Had a very quick light dinner at the Kopitiam before heading to meet 306. I stupidly forgot to pack my ATM card and any Singapore $ with me back. =X No Ezlink card too. Haha.

They had these flashing blinking lights on the MRT route now! I didn't know how to read it! LOL.

Met the group at ION Orchard. 1st visit! =D They had this very interactive directory that helps you how to find stuff around and gives you information as well. Of cos, CHEAPO YANWAN cannot be found. Hahaha.

Settled for this restaurant at last. Bad choice actually because the seats and tables weren't meant for gatherings at all.

But the food was actually quite good. I was just too full to eat after the multi meals on the plane followed by the quick light dinner. =X

=)

Walked over to Starbucks where Ayuni was working!

And a quick group picture before Wei Lun left to go back to camp. So rushed. We all didn't have time for a proper sit down catch up. *Sniff* But at least we managed a group picture. The girls started talking about investments after that. I was just in awe of Cherie's knowledge. I could never do that. Seriously. Hahaha.

And some last shots in the toilet in ION before MRT-ing home with Beilin and Sarah. Cherie gave us a very cute hug. Hahaha. My sister came and picked us up from Simei. =)

Love you guys! See you in 4 months!

The next afternoon, I visited another new shopping centre, Tampines 1. The family had lunch at Manpuku. My father even came all the way from work to join us. =) The shopping centre was kinda interesting. Lots of new shops but no time to shop. Manpuku is like a Japanese Marche.

The food was good but like Marche, expensive.

CHOP ? !

And at night, it was down to Clarke Quay to meet HIGH! After 2 meals of Japanese meals, I was all ready for some local fare and what better way than to have seafood!

Now, this is what I call food.

Argh, I missed you guys! ALOT! And the 10 million gatherings!

Too bad Daddy, Uncle and Cousin couldn't join us. =( I'll make sure to see you all next time.

Ended off the night with expired jellybeans and choco fudge and coke! Tiny little things they sell here.

ORANGS the next day. 4 of us only because everybody else was either in school or in camp or working. =( Bad timing. Bought a birthday balloon for Jolyn!

Waiting outside Raffles City.

Then to the hotel for a Dim Sum buffet.

Absolute Heaven. Excellent Dim Sum except for the Chee Cheong Fun and cheap tooo! Hahahaha. Argh, why don't they have Dim Sum here?!

Darren made me order a pair of Oakley's for him so we took turns posing with it. Hahahaha.

And of course a mini celebration for our birthday girl. Some little girl walked up and played with Jolyn's balloon. She almost didn't want to return it. Hahaha.

Then it was a little exploring of the City Hall area and we walked to Marina Square for some KBOX. Hahaha. Dunno any new songs at all.

Rushed back to Bedok for a ride with Hazel to ECP.

To meet with my bestest buds of 8 years. Hahaha. And it was Juliana's and Hazel's 21st as well. Because of me, they had to celebrate it at a hawker centre. =X I love you girls. Hehehe.

I'm telling you. Nothing else in the world can beat this. Singapore. Hawker. Food.

Picture Picture! And Hazel's jumping in the last shot started off a flurry of other jumping shots.

Nah, there you go. Haha. Michelle was in nearby pavillion copying stuff from all my hard disks. Didn't manage to finish it in the end so they're all with her now. Haha.

The girls then shoo-ed me and Hazel off for a walk cos they wanted to write on some cards for us. Juliana had hers during her 21st birthday party. Haha. So we walked and talked and walked and used the bathroom at the Jumbo restaurant. Pretty pretty card! I love the drawings in it. =)
Alas, we still did not go to that Cheesecake Cafe we spoke of 10 million years ago. Oh well, next time. MUST.

Slept for like 2 hours and had to pack and head to the airport again. Time to head back to Snowy Land! =( My father had a flight the same morning to KL as well. So might as well go altogether. I can swear there were only food stuffs and lotions inside the luggage. Hahaha.

Breakfast at K Kopitiam. Could feel the surging of a fever after the laksa. =p

Time to check in for my own flight. Almost couldn't board. Long story. Ask me and I'll tell you in private. Haha. And before you start harping on the Business Class ticket, lemme just clarify that I didn't pay for a full Biz Class ticket. I bought an Economy Class ticket and my father used his miles to upgrade me. So I'm a "fake" Biz Class person. LOL. But I think I'll never throw away the stub. Hahaha. Probably my first and last time.

My mother brought me to the Butterfly Garden in T3. Small but pretty. Bought a couple of Biotherm stuff for Yinyin as well. Oh, and surprise surprise, bumped into Junie at the money changer who happened to be on my flight to Seoul as well. =D

Being the first and last time, a visit to the lounge is a must.

Took me a good 5- 10 mins to figure out how to work the buttons and all. Sylvester was right. Hahaha. The entertainment system was good and big. Noise cancelling headphones. And I could stretch my legs fully!

Hehe, now this is what I called refreshments up in the sky.

And the eating begins again. In proper plates and silverware! Oh my! So heavenly. Sarah told me to "Book the Cook"so I booked the cook. Ordered some risotto. Not bad I think. Should have ordered the duck rice though. But I loved the ice cream! Serves me right when the full fledged fever and cough came on not long after that. Junie brought me the sick kit and an ice pack. SIA service rocks. Hahaha.

Wah. The table. Totally rocks lah. And I liked that shaker so much. Looks like a snowman. Kept rolling it around. LOL.

Stopped over in Seoul for an hour. Too sick to do any shopping or phototaking.

Eat again. Hahaha. I should have taken the Chicken Noodle Soup instead of the Korean set. I couldn't speak after that. =X But the food is really damn good. No one can ever imagine airline food being this good. Satay leh! And that noodles. So heavenly. With chilli padi somemore! But I kept rejecting other food like the bread, cheese plate, and all the wonderful drinks I could have drunk! Shucks man. If SIA ever shuts down, they can switch to F&B like that Taiwanese airline. LOL.

The seat that became a bed! My God! Lucky for the bed. Almost ready to die on the plane. It was cold and hot at the same time. Oh, did I mention, the toilet was pretty too. Hahaha.

10 hours later, we landed in San Francisco. My ears and nose got completely blocked after that. Could barely hear what the customs guy was saying. I just nodded and shook my head at everything. Boarded the plane to Denver (again) after 2 hours. And bad luck enough, the plane to Jackson Hole was delayed. Argh. Oh, and that's not all, I had to go in to work 2 hours after that 25 hour journey and a fever that was about to rip my head apart. But as it was not busy, I got to come home after working for 2 hours. Hooray!

Alright everybody, end of update. Bye!

Crazy Jet Setter Part 1!

Hello all!

Alright, I'm back with a proper update. This blog is going from dead to deader with either the most randomest updates or no updates at all. LOL. So here's Part 1 of my crazy jet setting journey halfway around the globe.

Jackson Hole to Denver. 39 mins to catch my next plane to Los Angeles for a 5 hour layover. Boring LAX. Had McDonalds and bought a book, Sundays at Tiffany's. Boarded this new pretty plane to Sydney. 14 hours flight. No entertainment system. Thank God for Economy Plus. Slept like a baby.

Some really weird curry yellow rice dish for supper followed by Breakfast No. 1 and Breakfast No. 2. The banana cake was good though. Touched down in Sydney. Had my vacuum packed chicken stew confiscated by the customs. Practically ran to catch my domestic flight to Adelaide. And that's Breakfast No. 3. My parents came to the airport to wait for me. =) Very BIG surprise.

Special rate to stay at the Hilton. And view from the room.

Took a cab back to Regency Park. Some shopping at the very familiar Vietnamese supermarket and of course lunch at the very familiar Vietnamese restaurant with Marian and Edwin.

Beef noodles, I missed you! And longan drink too. Hahaha. It might be another XX years before I'll return to have you again.

Brought my parents back to the school grounds for a visit. Ahh, memories.

I like the middle picture.

And of course, back to RIH! The receptionist recognised me but I didn't know her name. =X Dining hall where I grew fat, mailboxes where all the love mail from home came, and a newly painted kitchen. I would have loved to show my parents my old room but I know that would be impossible.

And back to Rundle Mall for some Haigh's Chocs and a walk down the lane that set me back by hundreds of Aussie $. Hahaha.

And the Graduation Night begins. Reunion with old friends! Lots of screaming and hugging. Hahaha.

So many different cards on the table.

And this is what the guests paid A$85 for. Hmm. Not very worth it in my opinion. Especially the main course. The cheesecake was superb though. Oh, and free flow of wine but I didn't have any for fear of concussing before the ceremony began. Note: I slept probably less than 8 hours over the past 48 hours. Hahaha.

Was shoo-ed out of the ballroom to get dressed up for the ceremony. Followed by forming a line according to our last names. Got caught in between Kyri & Aram. And with these two around, non stop laughing and jokes about anything and everything about the ceremony. And then the march in.

Yay! =)

While waiting for my name to be called, I was fretting over that blue cape sliding down, my mortar board falling of my head and tripping over the stairs and landing flat on my face.

But hey! We finally did it! When the MC announced, "Ladies and Gentlemen, presenting to you, the 2009 graduates of the Bachelor in International Hotel Management!" Whoo! All the mortar boards just flew up! One of the happiest moments of my life. I wished I had the video from my father.

What I've always dreamt of to have on my graduation. The parchment, flowers, a teddy bear and of course, my parents with me. =) And no, that is not a wedding ring. It's an ICHM badge.

And of course, all the friends. Look at the way everybody's wearing that blue cape. Haha. I told you it was irritating. It was so sad to say goodbye to everyone after that. We're all over the world so it's gonna be so hard to see everyone again. But I'm sure we would someday. =)

And here's the parchment! I hope it's being framed up somewhere at home now.

Went out for a short walk early the next morning before the flight. Sunday turns Adelaide into a dead city. Look at the streets! We couldn't even find dim sum for breakfast in Chinatown.

So we headed back to the Hilton. Coming to America has actually made me love something. And that's pancakes and waffles for breakfast. Haha. I still get really turned off by pizzas and hamburgers and steaks though.

More walking and exploring. And finally it was time to head to the airport.

Had breakfast at the KrisFlyer Lounge. Another 1st I would say.

The golden (green) ticket home! Goodbye Adelaide! I'll see you in a few years time! Singapore, here I come!

Oh, and before I end off, I definitely need to mention the meals on that flight. All I can say is I felt like a pig. No time to rest at all. It was just like drink eat drink eat. We had a snack, followed by lunch and then an hour later, noodles and pie! -.-' Really, I felt the money paid for the flight was really worth it but they really didn't have to feed me like that. Hahahaha. Watched 'The Proposal'. Ooh, so good. Hahaha. I love Ryan Reynolds.

Ok, watch out for Part 2! You'll all get features! =D
