Yellowstone National Park with Sarah!

Hello all!

Alright, final adventure to Yellowstone National Park. A long 1.5 hours drive from the town of Jackson though. Pretty scenery along the way.

Our first stopover. I've completely forgotten the name of this large lake.

The road was actually quite busy with loads of cars and RVs.

And they had roadworks somewhere near the entrance of the park as well. Summer is the busiest period in Yellowstone but the construction workers have to do their road works during this period too because the other months are just too cold. The pickup truck had a sign that read "Pilot Car. Follow Me". So cute.

Welcome!

Look at the height of the snow during the Winter. Hahahaha.

The newspaper and pamphlets had a very interesting section on avoiding bears. I can't rmb any of it right now but couldn't stop laughing.

Mini Waterfall.

I'd been to the river in the Winter before. Look at the difference. How did so much snow melt away?

Tanned Girl (Summer) VS Wanton Girl (Winter)

I tread the path you walked before. LOL.

We saw a whole row of cars parking on the side and being kpo again, we stopped over and voila! Bison! They were crossing the road without a care in the world. Hahaha. Animal Planet was showing a documentary called "Yellowstone: Battle for Life" the other night and I picked up a few points regarding bison. Do you know why they like to roll around in the dirt? Because the more dirt and dust they conjure, the more attractive they look to a mate!

Rapids whose name escapes me again. Haha.

We like to take pictures of the other person taking pictures of other people.

Some sulphur hot spring. Stinky stinky.

After almost 2 extra hours of driving, we finally reach Canyon Village.

Pretty ain't it? There was a rainbow too. And we were just on the edge of the waterfall.

The Grand Canyon. Yellowstone style.

The walk down was easy but the walk up? Noooo. I so feel like asking my family to walk down while I just wait up on top for them. LOL!

I think this was the Upper Falls.

Next stop: West Thumb Geyser Basin. It was originally our first stop but I think we missed the exit somehow somewhere. By the way, pretty place. The geysers all had different colours in them.

Last stop of the day. Old Faithful Geyser.

Boom Boom Boom! The geyser actually does not make the loud hissing noises as the ones you see in the movies.

We were kinda sitting in the wrong direction. The wind blew the water towards us. Hahaha.

Again, we spotted a group of cars on our way home. And another animal! I think it's an elk but it could be a deer too. Did you know male elk shed their antlers every Spring to grow new ones?

My motive for stopping over was just to take a picture of the pretty mountains. But surprise surprise!

We saw deer! Not normal deer but running deer. Something had to be chasing them for them to be fleeing at such speed.

Tadah! A bear! OMG! I was so ecstatic then. I waited so long to finally see one. Do you know I have colleagues who've worked here for more than 2 years and never seen a wild bear?

Sarah calls it "Fat Thing". LOL!

Beautiful sunset to end of the day.

=)

Rafting + Blu Kitchen!

Hello all!

Can't sleep. Too excited. And pissed. Their flight got delayed at the Chicago Airport for 3 hours. -.-' United United United. You suck.

So, I'll do some blogging. Back to the adventure in JH. I love Whitewater Rafting. I'll do it every month before Winter comes. Yeah, right. Hahaha. Anyway, that day we went rafting.

Different company this time because Mad River did not offer us comp rides. No idea what the other companies were offering but Lewis & Clark was offering $1 rides for hotel staff so why not?

We got a tinier boat this time. Only needed 6 paddlers but we were lucky cos all 3 of us managed to paddle. Ms. Lau volunteered for the lead paddler. LOL! Ooh, look at my muscles.

The water was not as scary as the first time I went but still shiok enough. Cold too. Brrrr.

Dinner at the Blu Kitchen. I love that place. I think I'll bring my family there too. I dunno what the two girls found so fascinating about the teapot but yeah. Hahahaha.

The appetizers that came with the local's special. Some sashimi and seaweed thing.

And the ultra lip smacking main courses.

Damn cute right? Chopsticks and knife. LOL! My head looks big here.

Yinyin with Sarah's bling. And we ordered a glass of Moscato to share. 4 days more till I can officially drink in the US of A. Come on baby!

Remember that huge cookie? We added on a peanut butter ice cream choc brownie dunno what else with it too. Ultimate Sweetness.

Me likey the two pictures. Haha.

I think I'm going to start on the Yellowstone entry because it will be backlogged for about a week or so if I don't start on it. Bye!

Come on plane! I need to go to work. Hurry hurry.

Harry Potter + Grand Teton National Park!

Hello all!

I'm so excited. I'm about to see my family (part of) in less than 36 hours. Yay! And today also marks my sixth month here! Just another 6 more months to go!

Oh, and I caught Harry Potter too! With Yinyin and Yuri. My first ever movie in Jackson Hole.

The local cinema.

So good. Me likey. Hahaha.

And this is the movie ticket. LOL!

Ok, back to my little adventure in JH. The other two girls had an OFF day too so we went to the Grand Teton National Park.

Our first stop on the drive towards Jenny Lake. No wildlife at all. =(

Beautiful ain't it?

Why isn't my picture vertical? Ooh, I like the motorcycle.

And this photo too. It makes me look damn pro and makes Caden look like he has a huge lens. Hahahahaha.

Perfect advertisement for the Tetons.

We reach at last.

Clear clear water.

More clear water and mountains.

And then we took a boat over to the other side of Jenny Lake to reach some other points and lookouts.

The stamp was damn cute. "Feed No Animals"

Hi, I'm Matt. Meet Lifevest No. 2. Please be good friends if you want him to save you in case the boat sinks.

Time to start hiking.

Walk. Walk. Walk. Are we there yet?

Waterfall! Mini.

The trees remind me of Twilight. Edward is hidden in the trees somewhere.

Peiting wanted to climb to the top. And she was wearing slippers. LOL!

We drank the fresh spring water! Expected it to be sweet but it just tasted like cold water. LOL. Hahahaha.

Pull me. Don't wanna climb.

Whoo hoo! The top!

Emo Emo Emo.

People were q-ing up to take pictures from this ledge. And we were still playing with the self timer with different shots. =X

Chip & Dale. And their siblings. Did you know? Chipmunks love potato chips.

A very big surprise and bonus on our way home. The entire road was filled with cars on both lanes so being curious and kpo, we parked and went over. Oh god! A moose! Not my first time seeing one but still excited at the same time!

I slept for 2 hours and we were out again. Initial plan was to ride the Gondola up but they were closed on Tuesdays so we reverted back to Four Seasons to have a drink at their Lobby Lounge.

Drink Drink Drink.

And it was also to celebrate Yuri's XXth birthday. Love the crayon candles by the way. Hahaha.

We asked for simple napkins, forks and plates. Josh brought us real napkins, porcelain plates and the works. Four Seasons. Unbeatable service. LOL!

And this is our FSJH hand crafted boat that we use to take guests out fly fishing in.

OK! End of post. Bedtime!
