Eat your hearts out people! I rode the Singapore Flyer last night! Haha.. So here's a sneak preview of what it's like being 165m above sea level!

Yup.. That depicts my exciting 1st time on board the Flyer.. I'm gonna have to try the Day flight one day.. See how different it is from the Night flight.. Haha.. Many many thanks to Joseph who allowed us on board during our shifts.. Hehe..

Anyway, to whoever out there in the world who is spreading rumours that Singapore Flyer is fully booked for the 1st 3 months, stop bullshitting! We're not even fully booked on the 1st day lah except for the Night flights (We're overbooked on them actually.. Oops!)

Oh well.. I guess you guys have alot of questions on how the Flyer actually works and the prices.. Well, lemme give you guys a brief introduction to the Singapore Flyer.. =)

The staff team at SF is seperated into many sections.. We have Ticketing Officers (that's me), Hospitality Crew, Giant Observation Wheel (GOW) Technical Team, G4 Security Officers, G8 Moments Photography Team, Adval Sales & Marketing, MeGu (Kriston) F&B, ISS Cleaning Services and In-Audio Audio Guides..

There are 4 Ticketing Counters located in Flyer namely at the Promenade, Carpark, Level 2 and Management Office.. We have 3 types of ticketing categories- Basic, Express and Signature Cocktail.. The ticket prices are in the respective order of Adult, Child (3- 12 Years Old) and Senior Citizen (60 Years & Above).. Coloured Tags are given out for differentiation..

1) Basic- Normal Ride ($29.50, $20.65, $23.60)

2) Express- Faster Clearance through Security.. Blue Tag.. ($52, $36.40, $41.60)

3) Signature Cocktail- 1 Glass of SF Cocktail, Faster Clearance through Security and a Souvenir SF Cocktail Glass.. Orange Tag.. *Only 6 flights per day and 3 capsules allocated per flight and customers must buy the tickets 3 hours in advance.. ($69, $48.30, $55.20)

The Ticket.

The 1st flight of the day is 830am and the last flight is 10pm.. There is a 30 minute interval in between each flight.. E.g. 830am, 9am, 930am, 10am.. Each flight last for 37 mins.. There are 28 capsules in total and each capsule can take up to 28 people.. All the newspaper say we only accept 26 per capsule.. I have no idea why.. The loading and unloading time per capsule is 1 min and 14 secs..

The price for booking down an entire capsule is $1850 during Peak Periods and $1000 for Non- Peak Periods.. Wedding Couples get to ride 2 rounds to enable them enough time to say "I Do"..

Starting 1 March, there would be a 10% off all tickets for UOB cardholders.. We accept all credit cards except for JCB.. NETS and Cash is accepted too.. However, just a warning to everybody.. The only ATM machine available at SF is ABN AMRO and the nearest DBS/ POSB ATM is at the Esplanade or Marina Square which is a 15 mins walk away from SF.. So pls draw enuff money before coming.. *Currently, I do not have staff discounts as they're still implementing it.. So I can't buy any tixs for you guys.. Sorry..

Oh yeah.. I guess another question is.. HOW TO I GET TO SINGAPORE FLYER? Well, very easy but a long journey.. The nearest MRT is City Hall.. Promenade MRT will be up in 2010.. There are 3 ways of walking all equally long..

1) Esplande- At Level 1, walk out from the entrance beside The Cookie Museum and you'll see a bus stop and DXO.. Walk along the path along DXO and Makan Sutra and head str8 towards the Flyer.. Very visible at this point..

2) Marina Square- Head towards the main centre foyer on Level 1 of Marina Square and walk towards the direction pointing to the cinema.. You'll soon come to some food hub with Killney, Famous Amos, A1 Curry Puff etc.. Walk out the exit at Killney and walk down the passageway on your right.. You'll pass John Little's staff entrance.. Continue walking and you come to a long flight of stairs.. Walk down and the Flyer should be visible by then.. Continue walking..

3) From City Hall Mrt, take the escalator pointing towards Raffles City and head right after that.. Walk str8 past Cafe Cartel and Swissotel.. Just keep walking str8 until you reach an underground passageway.. Walk through it and after you pass it, the Flyer should be visible..

Hoo! I think I talked alot in this post.. Hehe.. Will continue next time.. Tml is Singapore Flyer's opening day.. Working 730am to 4pm.. It'll be quite exciting I guess? And Singapore's 2nd and Largest Popeye is opening at Singapore Flyer too.. It's really huge..

After 4 days of cooping myself up in the house, I'm finally back out.. Like, yay!

Original plan was to head to Partyworld with Cherie, Bei Lin & Wei Lun.. However, the price they quoted me over the phone was more expensive than the website therefore kaisu as I am, I went to book KBOX too.. =p Haha..

Walked down memory lane towards MM.. Haha.. The hotel is like dying? Good riddance to them anyway..

Took the Student Tapas package for $14.50 Nett inclusive of 1 snack, 1 titbit and 1 drink.. Since we all took Coke, it was Free Flow.. Haha.. Sang from 2 to 7pm.. WL left around 6 to meet his Mum.. So the rest of us continued to sing until 730pm and realised we were actually late to meet Ayuni.. Headed to B1 to draw money..

Surprise Surprise! Saw Yixia, Geswin, Bernice and Wei Ting at the Jap restaurant there.. Haha.. Hello! Left after a few moments cos we were already late.. Nice seeing you guys though!

Decided to change the dinner destination to City Link Mall instead of Clarke Quay cos it'll be easier for everybody.. It was New York New York Vs. Japanese Pasta.. NYNY took the winning bet and we were lucky to get their capsule-liked seats.. Haha.. So we placed our orders and talked on and on and on.. Lots of topic to share about.. So many many.. Haha..

Headed home.. I think Bei Lin & Ayuni wanted to kill me for not driving.. Haha.. We could all have reached home in 15 mins.. But saddening, I dunno the routes of Singapore.. Haha.. Only the east side.. So we trugged home on the super cold MRT.. Pics will be up as soon as I got them..

Back to work tml.. Working 730am to 4pm.. It's gonna be another super boring day with only that limited number of customers.. But we get to slack.. Haha..

Really people.. I'm practically yawning from utter boredom.. I'm trapped all alone at home with no work no school nothing to do at all.. No work because there's nth to do until Flyer officially opens in March.. No school cos I finished on 18 Feb.. Graduation ceremony is oni in May..

So I play my PSP all day long and stare into the computer screen for practically 12 hours a day.. Bad for health.. I should probably go sign up for some gym membership to kill the time.. So bored so bored so bored!!

1st Official Day @ Singapore Flyer..

At Flyer for work yesterday.. Reached too early so thot I'll lone by the Esplanade River for a while.. A Korean UNCLE approached me and asked if I lived here.. He was a very nice uncle asking me stuff about Singapore.. If only he was Korean hunk.. =p

Anyway, slacked for about 1 hr cos the supervisors were not there yet.. Got our new uniforms.. And believe me, we all looked like fitness instructors more than ticketing officers.. Slacked for another 30 mins and started work.. Went to office to take float and for counter assignments.. Carpark Counter with Wei Sung & Ida.. Jamie's our supervisor.. Got my new code and went to find out which flights were available today..

Basically bored to death because we're practically open to only to the Singapore Airshow and Chingay ticket holders.. And we're actually open up to the public! Why say NO to moolah right? Yup.. So ppl, you can come! Limited flights per day! So hurry hurry! Haha.. Slacked again all the way to 530pm.. Time to close counter!

Flyer has the easiest counter closing in all the jobs I've worked at.. Why? Becos you don't have to pack or return float! Haha.. Just merge your float with ur daily earnings and submit them all in.. Cos Finance will repack the float for us again.. Haha.. And for credit card slips, just press "Settlement" on your machine will do.. Dun have to do any Function 75 or press F4.. Easy right? Haha..

Standard Chartered booked the entire wheel for the whole night and therefore we didn't have a chance to ride it.. =( Originally deployed to help at the Security gates after closing but they had enuff staff so they sent us home an hour early..

Yup.. And so these are my adventures at Flyer at my official 1st day of work.. =) And for some unknown reason, I'm called Robyn at Flyer.. Something about because of my name being Yan Wan.. The "Yan" in Chinese is the bird Sparrow.. So if memory serves me, a Robin is a type of bird too.. Haha.. And because my favourite superhero is Batman.. =) Okie.. Will end of with some pics for the day..

38.25 Fever..

Sorry for the lack of update.. Can't rmb what I did also the past few days.. Finally got my Final Fantasy 9 on PSP after so many failed attempts.. =)

Down with a 38.25 Degree Celsius fever on Sunday night.. Had to miss my father's birthday dinner at some restaurant down Rangoon Road.. All alone at home filled on plain bread with butter and milk..

Last day of school today.. Whee! Dun want to talk about the interview.. So many questions lah.. And I saw a big "M" on the cover of my paper.. Dunno what it stands for.. Moderate? And I forgot that I havent returned one of the library books meaning I have to go back again.. Dratz..

Back to work at Flyer on 20 Dec.. Working 11am to 730pm.. Anyone interested in dinner after that? Joseph said he's gonna give me lots of mid shifts becos we're not officially opened yet.. Haha.. Time to make some big moolah till Graduation which is on 21- 23 May.. Sianz.. So far away..

It's time for some much needed holidays.. Genting in March.. Japan in April.. Hoping Hong Kong and Taiwan in May.. And finally maybe China's Jiu Cai Gou in June.. I wanna go snokelling again.. Haha..

And I did something crazy on Saturday night.. I started watching The Little Mermaid on some old VCD I dug out.. Then I realised the quality was too lousy and there were no subtitles.. So immiediately, I cycled to TM and bought the DVD version on the spot.. =) Didn't regret it.. Haha..

Celebrated Vday with my family.. Went to my Mum's friend's uncle's new opened shop selling called Chaco's.. Quite a horrible place actually.. The portion was so unbalanced.. 2/4 Fries, 1/4 Cream Potatoes, 1/4 Chicken.. Fries were even more than the main lead which should be the chicken..

Worse still was the service.. We ordered 2 types of burgers and when the 1st one came, we asked the server which type was it.. And she replied, "I dunno.. Inside prepare one.." Diaoz.. And they served my order wrongly cos I wanted the peas to be changed to fries.. BTW, they really should do some market research.. Out of 10 Singaporeans, how many actually love to eat peas?! I believe it would be just 1-2 people.. And they actually decide to serve it as a side dish..

Anyway, so I went back to that same server and told her that my order was wrong.. She took my plate and gave it to another colleague beside her, "Steve.. Settle this!" My flabber was ghasted.. The shop win le.. Feel like laughing sia..

Oh yeah.. Graduation Trip is settled to Genting.. March 2- 5.. And I so wanted to work at Flyer today.. See who are all those ppl who are willing to spend $399 for 30 mins.. And I think the atmosphere would be great too.. Haha..

I have nth to do these few days.. Pls ask me out ppl! =) And I so want to watch The Seventh Day! Kevin, Niki, Bosco & Natalie!!

Last & Final Project..

My MM pay has finally arrived after 17 days of pure agony.. Haha.. And they deducted so much from my basic and commission.. KNS..

Anyway, the last and final project of my entire poly life has finally been handed in.. It's finally the end.. At long last.. And now, just that last interview before I say Bye Bye to TP.. Haha.. I almost left out 2 important parts of my paper.. But thanks to a super naggy Sandy Li Shujun today, the day was saved.. Haha..

Full day outing with GC family yesterday.. Met at 1030am at Vivo to watch Ah Long Pte Ltd.. It's a typical Just-For-Laughs type of show.. Dun read too much into it or expect too much either.. Haha.. To Wei Ting's house for Bai Nian.. Wanted to go find Jayne too but dunno which block she lived in.. =( And she's probably at work too.. Played Blackjack and won some money.. Next off to Bernice's house for a second round of gambling.. Won some money again.. Haha..

Headed to Chinatown's Mouth Restaurant and ordered their $568++ CNY set for 10 pax.. It was like a reunion dinner with too much food and a messy messy tossing of Yu Sheng.. So it was like almost $60 each.. Quite a moderate price to pay for great company and much much food.. Haha.. But I felt guilty for eating the Shark's Fin.. =( I rather they offer me fake ones instead..

Off to Yanqi's 3rd Sister's house for another round of Bai Nian.. Her sister and Brother In-Law are really nice ppl.. And we started gambling again.. Sianz.. I lost heavily cos we switched to playing In-Between.. Had to stop after like 6 rounds cos casualty ka-ching wise $$$$ was fatal.. In total, I lost about $30++ and the bets were like $0.50 lah.. Sianz.. Left around 1am with Jun Wei cos I gotta finish up the paper.. He treated the entire cab fare home cos he was the biggest winner last night.. Muahaha.. Thanks ah..

Met the Sec Sch girls- Juliana, Michelle, Alrina, Carine, Xinyi, Judy & Jie Hui at Bedok Interchange @ 930am.. Visited 7 houses today.. Very very exhausting.. Haha.. But I miss our times tgt..

1) Xinyi's House- Received 3 Ang Baos.. Ate Fried Noodle and Ngoh Hiang..
2) Hazel's House- Watched Mei Wei Guan Xi and ate Ngoh Hiang again..
3) Jie Hui's House- Played with her 1 year old nephew, Liang Liang and ate Tahu Goreng..
4) My House- Watched Price of Greed and ate brownies..
5) Juliana's House- Played with her cat and mahjong..
6) Zhi Jun's House- Watched Chicken Little and ate cookies and kueh lapis..
7) Michelle's House- Played card games, ate steamboat, played sparkles and talked about funny stuff..

We've known each other at 13.. Now we're all 20.. It's like scary.. Haha.. So many years just pass like that.. It was so cool knowing all of them.. Waiting for the pics from Xinyi to upload.. =)

Okie.. I'm gonna have an early night cos tml would be the day I aimed to finish my Research Paper.. Haha.. Though it wouldn't be possible.. I'm a late bird.. Counting down to 18 Feb 245pm.. Haha.. I wanna watch Disney on Ice.. Think I'll be watching it alone cos no person at my age would be interested in it.. Haha..

Anyway, went to my Great Grandma's house for reunion dinner tonight.. My mum hit herself in the left eye with a corkscrew while opening a bottle of wine and cut her cornea/ cataract.. Bad way to end of the Year of the Pig.. My Dad sent her to CGH for treatment.. But everything's okie le.. =)

I must set a goal to complete my research paper by Sunday.. Sianz..

Counting down to 18 Feb- Last day of sch!

Anyway, a little updates here and there..

Sunday- Headed to Regina's house in the afternoon to plan her BIG birthday surprise.. Got caught in the rain very badly.. I had to trouble her Mum to get me a cloth cos my feet were soaked.. So we blew up balloons, cut out her name, wrote lovely cards and drank green tea.. Haha.. Presenting to you, The Big Surprise! Tada! Love the Orangs!


Cabbed to Clarke Quay's The Pump Room after that.. Ordered one beer and waited for the birthday girl to arrive.. Surprise! She didn't expect us there.. Haha.. Everybody got a hug except for the guys.. Ordered some steak burger and it felt like the staff went to New Zealand to catch the cow.. But it was damn good.. Haha.. Some of them played the "5,10,15" game to finish up the Tower of Beer.. The live band came soon and we sabo-ed the birthday girl by getting the band to get her up on stage and sing her a loud B'day Song! Haha.. Took 80 and transfered to a cab at Hougang which costs me $15.. =( But overall, it was such a fun fun day! Looking forward to grad trip!

Monday- School for consultation.. It was too short a time.. Couldn't ask all my questions in time.. =( Oh well.. Haha.. Headed to the Library after that to borrow books and had to trouble my dear Sin Hwee to borrow some from TAS for me but it couldn't be found.. Chanced upon some Disneyland books and borrowed them too.. Took 168 to Amber's house.. Long long journey.. And I got lost at her estate.. Saw little baby Averlyn again and I thot it was a different bb can you imagine? Haha..

Headed to Vivo after that cos she wanted to visit Fion they all.. I stayed outside cos I couldn't go in anymore.. Haha.. Dinner-ed at Kim Gary cos we were craving for French Toast.. Went up to Europa and talked to Wen An.. Haha.. I'm gonna have familiar faces at Singapore Flyer! Watched 27 Dresses after that.. Quite an ok show.. Not exactly WOW!

Okie.. Gotta go prepare for work le.. Haha.. Bye Bye!

For some reason..

Training has started at Singapore Flyer.. I was late on both days due to school.. Cab fares hurt.. And I haven't received my pay from MM yet.. Anway, learnt to use the ticketing system.. Rather simple compared to OPERA.. And for some reason, ALL the ticketing staff are girls.. Haha.. Uniform for Ticketing would be a little diff cos the sleeves will be 3/4.. The bottom would be cargo pants and the shoes would be white sneaker which we would have to purchase ourselves.. It's lucky u know cos the ones that are provided comes with red laces.. Eeew.. Haha..

NAPFA test was today.. Shouldn't have come sia.. Cos I realise it was not really "compulsory".. Did 3 stations and gave up on the Standing Broad Jump.. Picked up our bags and left.. Haha.. Still considering whether to go back for restest or not..

Toptable for lunch with 307 on Friday but Sarah couldn't join us.. The food was okie.. Just that the water for the tea was cold.. And we took pics in the lift again.. Haha.. We purposely didn't press the floor so we had more time to take but suddenly the door opened and we shocked the Uncle.. Haha.. Went to the Career Fair after that.. Hordes of ppl.. Scanned card and left after taking some brochures..


Bought Jay Chou's concert DVD on impulse but after watching it, I don't regret buying it.. My god.. His live performance is like super good with the stages props and effects.. He had so many guest stars also like Chow Yun Fatt, Jacky Cheung, Pan Wei Bo, Ke You Lun, Fei Yu Qing and Nan Quan Mama's Yan Yu Hao.. Haha.. Go watch k?

Okie.. I'm going to chiong my research paper now but I bet there will be no productivity.. Haha.. And I wanna go Chinese Garden.. Anybody interested?
