China May 2008 Day 7

Hello all! Please bear with me a little more.. 3 more posts to go.. And this is Day 7..

Day 7- 29 May 2008

It was off to the Great Wall today.. Met the Cab Lady around 8am and off we go! The weather turned a little chilly today.. Met with a horrible jam along the way to the Great Wall.. The radio said that a few vehicles had broken down along the expressway.. It was those type of turn off engine and wait there type.. That bad..

Reason: There were lots of lorries using the same expressway as well and instead of keeping to the slow lane, they occupy both the slow and fast lanes.. Worse still was that they even used up the road shoulder thus the emergency vehicles couldn't get to the accident scene in time..

And I have the evidence! Haha.. Look at the big jam.. Where in Singapore can you ever stand on an expressway to take pictures? Haha.. One of life's must dos is accomplished!

And that's the cab lady.. Note all the lorries occuying all the lanes?

And finally we have reached! It was really windy up there..

Ok! Time to set off to climb the Great Wall of China! Note a lot of people wearing wind breakers? It was that windy.. And my sister bought that red thick sweater for just S$5.. Haha..

And that's my father panting away.. The entire great wall is ascending so it's like climbing lots of slopes and stairs.. Bought ice cream on the way up.. The ice cream didn't melt.. Dunno why.. Haha.. But damn shiok to be sweating like a pig, wind blowing in your hair and eating ice cream all at the same time.. Bought anoter ice cream higher up and it was more expensive by S$1.. My father was saying that the higher you go the more expensive it was.. Haha..

And finally we have reached the "Hao Han Bo".. That signage up there was actually for tourists to take pictures with.. However, some locals have taken up the area around the signage to start their own business.. Gosh..

Look at our hair! Feels like we're going to be blown away! And my father fell down on the way down the steps.. Quite dangerous up there too..

It took us almost 2 hours to get to the top and since we were too tired to walk back down, we decided to take the short cut and ride this Luge Rollercoaster type of thing.. Hah.. But it was not cheap.. Almost S$6 for one person..

The trip down included a Bear Farm visit as well.. But it was quite a disappointing bear farm.. Not as nice as the Japan one..

And look at the apples! So old and disgusting.. I wouldn't even eat if I were the bears.. Ok.. I so much prefer the bear farm in Japan..

The cab lady came to fetch us and we headed to some local restaurant for a simple lunch.. Saw this poor little dog there and fed it some chicken..

Made our way to the 13 tombs which is some place where they buried the emperors I think.. Quite an interesting place..

Our last stop of the day was dinner! Pizza Hut!

Ok.. My father never ever eats pizza cos he hates cheese but dunno why he said he can eat China's pizza cos the smell not that strong.. Maybe the grass that the cows in China and the cows in New Zealand eat is different? Haha.. But the pizza was good..

Went shopping after that.. Puma was having a mega sale and I bought 2 polo tees from there.. Hehe.. On our way back to our apartment, we saw a man and a woman fighting.. Really fighting.. The woman was using a plastic thing to hit the guy damn hard.. And then suddenly, the man turned around and started to strangle the woman on the ground.. Dunno what happen after that cos my Father told us to dun look and just walk faster..

Back at the apartment, we saw HBO airing Bring It On! and so we started watching it until we were so addicted to it.. Haha.. I'm going to buy the show..

Ok.. That's Day 7.. Stay tuned!
