Unnecessary Stress Factors

Once again I have sadly neglected by blog after my trip. It's been crazy ever since I got back with the endless nightmares at work. They are what I called unnecessary stress factors in my life.

Starting to really think about the future. I do know what I want. Just waiting for the perfect opportunity and chance to fall in my lap. I KNOW I WANT TO BE A PART OF THAT WORLD.

There are several things I wanna do right now.

1) Do up a proper blog entry on my trip.
2) Finish all the books stored in my iBooks.
3) Eat a sushi buffet.
4) Buy new clothes.
5) Cut YUI's fur.

Ahhhhhh! I need more time!

Vacation of the year

My vacation of the year is in 2 days! #stoked

Over the next 19 days I don't want to think about work. No more boarding passes, no more boarding announcements, no more offloading passengers, no more excess baggage coupons, no more agents coming to me going "Officer please help me", no more red lipstick!

Just me, my theme parks and my Big Apple.

Though there is something about work which I can't help worrying even during my trip. My China girls are going to be taking their check- in examination during this period. I always thought I would be around to help them get through this ordeal. Now I can only hope that they all pass. *Pray*

It's 5am and I'm just going to bed. Crazy day. So many delays. Full A380 flight.

And I'm so freaking hungry right now though I just had a peanut butter waffle and fried carrot cake at around 10pm. I want steamboat.

Went out with the whole of Batch 776 to Relish for dinner last Monday. It was fun and crazy handling all 15 of them.

Just 6 more days to my trip. Whoopeedo!

Vacation Planning

It's not always that I get a whole weekend off in my line of work. However I decided to stay in this Saturday night and spend a little me time. Something I haven't done in a long while. Gotta go out tomorrow though to look at some camera stuff.

As the night does not get any younger, I'm still wide awake doing some homework for my upcoming trip. I just love this part of the trip. It makes me feel organized and prepared and not lost in the middle of a foreign country without 3G and Google to turn too for info. (I think we depend on them too much but I can't think of what I'll do without them. Agreed?)

Heading back to the airport on Monday for a brand new ON THE JOB TRAINING. 3rd time since I've joined this company. I don't think there's any other company in the world that does this.

I'M GONNA BE AN OFFICER. Come look for me if you want excess baggage allowance or if you wanna complain about the nasty new airline website. I'm all ready baby.

Ok that was a good break. Back to the drawing board. I still have 9 more days of itinerary to plan and even more if I want to do up the Bangkok one as well.

DON'T WANT TO OPEN MY TEXTBOOK.

This is the 3rd time I've taken a test since I've joined this company. This is wrong. Nobody else gets this. Bleh.

Though this is the most fun I've had in the past 4 months. 2 weeks are ending soon. Snacking and snoozing in class. I could get used to this.

Anywho, 18 more days to the US of A. #Stoked.

Where have I been?

Wow, just wow. Almost a year. You have been neglected my poor blog.

Just a sudden urge to blog today. Maybe I just wanted a more personal space to post random stuff. Facebook and Twitter just don't really cut it.

Today marks marks a year and one day in the company. I SURVIVED. I faced the craziest passengers. I ran from A21 to B10 to F37 to E12. I wrote my report. I took my MC. I met a group of the best batchmates; 778 I LOVE YOU GUYS. I befriended the PRC (they love me, hahaha). I got scolded by my DMs and other funny random people. I got my thank yous. I put on enough make up to make me look like a monkey. I MADE IT.

Lots of feelings. Hard to put down. Too many people to thank.

Onto a new phase of this journey now. Stepping into the OFFICER world. Whole new ocean. Fiercer sharks. Chomp chomp. Like how Aslinda took away my "I AM NEW" badge, I'm no longer new.

Today, they brought us to a Salvation Army home for patients with dementia. I met a lady who used to live in my estate over there. She went in a month ago. A whole bucket of feelings. She can still tell me that she remembers the lift being upgraded. 2 mins later, she repeats the same thing. What dementia does to a person. Another bucket of feelings.

That's it for today. I planned something much longer and with more feelings. But I guess this can sum up everything. I hope to leave more virtual footprints here. Watch this space.

Oh, and my Dad bought a puppy home today. We named her Yui. She's a 2 month old Shih Tzu. Life's gonna change in this household. I'm looking forward to it.

I love aerobridges!

Hello all!

It's been slightly more than a month since I've joined the company. The journey thus far has been well, fun and if I might say, unexpectedly enjoyable. I've experienced so many new things for example, walking on a retracting aerobridge and standing on the aerobridge while it extends out to meet the cabin door. How many people in this world can have a job that lets you do that? Also, there's another part which I like which is when the aircraft arrives at the gate. How many jobs can have employees saying, "The plane is here!" as normal as a person on the street saying "The bus is here!" There are like tonnes of other interesting stuff that happens during a single shift but I better not reveal too much here. You can ask me in private if you want too. :)

The training programme of course is by far one of the most extensive a person can undergo. It seriously is not for the weak brained.

Since this is my blog, I shall be abit of a showoff and tell you how much I scored. 97% for the Arrival Test and 98% for the Departure. More showing off, I topped the batch. =p Ok, time to be modest again.

Meet Batch 778. There are 13 of us and by far, one of the few batches with so many guys. Oh, and we have 6 TCSOs. I dunno why the other colleagues seemed so fascinated by this.

Me and my peachy weachy uniform. I think they're giving female CSOs new tops. There are like 7 mannequins with different colour tops in the office today asking for votes on the prettiest colour. So far, maroon's in the lead. =) I hope nobody votes for that Mandarin Orange. PLEASE.

So we had to go to the Changi Air Freight Centre for about 3 weeks for the training. It's right beside the ferry terminal where the NS boys take the boat over to Tekong.

So since Batch 778 belongs to the Singapore Airlines/ Silkair (SQ/MI) Operations, everything we learn is related to them from the orientation to handling passengers with special needs.

On the 1 Oct, we were sent down to the airport to give out lollipops to kids. We were with Snow White. The little boys were so shy. I think they really liked her but were too cool to admit it. LOL. Oh, and there were some very big kids who were ahem, adults but wanted lollipops for themselves. Grow up and get a life please.

Down for Line Training. We got to go to a home to do Community Service one morning and it was so meaningful. We sang, danced, brought the clients out for a walk, celebrated the birthdays of the October babies and sang somemore. What a blast. Came back to a Welcome Hi- Tea to meet all the executives and mingle. I actually really liked this part of the training programme. At least we knew who our bosses were and they knew us.

Alas, all good things have to come to an end. Batch 778 has graduated from the Arrival/Departure training course. Now onto OJT and a few months of SOLO before we head back to the Air Freight Centre for the system training. Can't wait till we're all reunited again.
