Las Vegas!

Hello all!

So here comes the Las Vegas entry! It was to me a dangerously exciting city with drunkards and porn card distributors roaming the streets. And not to mention lots of shopping. But again, I've been away from the city for too long so that's why everything seemed so exciting to me. Hahaha.

At Denver Airport again for the XXth time.

The state of Neveda and Arizona. Desert wasteland. The landing was by far the best because the airport was just next to the Las Vegas Strip so you could see all the beautiful hotels and buildings.

Jackpot machines welcomed us at the airport! Hahaha. The people of Las Vegas are really proud of their airport.

Yes, I wished the limo was our ride too. We took the airport shuttle instead that used poker chips as ride tokens. And we kinda got cheated into using this company because other shuttle companies were offering a roundtrip ticket for $2 less. =(

And voila, our hotel for the next 3 nights. Comfy enough and really cheap with a fantastic location.

The casino in the lobby that still had people playing at 6am in the morning. -.-'

First stop, The Forum Shops @ Caesar's Palace. Pretty interior and loads of branded shopping.

The interior of the shopping mall reflected the culture of the Roman Empire. That horse was cool.

Lunch @ The Cheesecake Factory. Damn good.

Second stop, The Venetian. Since it reflected the culture of Venice, the gondola rides were a must.

But I wouldn't want to ride the gondola here. Totally not romantic at all because the gondola brings you through the centre of the shopping mall where shoppers are just standing by with their cameras ready to shoot a picture of you in it. Oh, and every good show in Las Vegas is "Rated #1 Show in Las Vegas" so not a very strong tagline there. Hahahaha.

Sunset! And we took a super duper long walk towards the MGM Grand hotel. Up overhead bridges with non-working escalators. Oh, did I forget to mention? The temperature was 29DC at night.

No lions. =( Totally waste my time to walk all the way there. Oh, but we did see bar top dancing though. And the dancers all turn out to be the bartenders! So cool!

On the long walk back, out of pure fate and chance, I bumped into my Sec Sch friend, Leticia! Stunned and shocked are the only words to describe this meeting. =)

The Fountains @ Bellagio. It's free, runs every 15 mins and has a different show every night.

Big damage already on the first day. LOL!

Now, lemme present to you the various hotels on the Las Vegas Strip. They are attractions themselves because there were so many shows and attractions within each one. Not to mention having great themes.

Caesar's Palace. There was even a colusseum which I'm guessing could be the conference halls or theatre halls?

Flamingo's. It housed a great restaurants and pub called Margaritaville.

Harrah's was just weird. Hahaha. Weird theme. Too colourful but there was a Starbucks and roadside stalls though.

The Mirage. I think there was a really pretty garden in there with a volcano show.

Treasure Island. The idea was taken from the Peter Pan story so there was a pirate ship and show there.

Paris. Needless to say, it reflected the one in France. Just that the tower was half the size.

Bellagio. One of the most expensive hotels there is in Vegas. Not sure if I wanna stay there though because the fountain show was just in front of the hotel and it runs every 15 mins till late so wouldn't it be really bright and loud for the guests inside the rooms?

MGM Grand. The largest hotel in the world. 5000+ rooms.

New York New York which of cos reflected New York City. There was a roller coaster there too! And Excalibur Hotel which was kinda like medieval style.

Mandalay Bay. It housed a Shark Reef Aquarium and the Lion King musical.

And of cos, the company. One of the few non- casino hotels in Las Vegas. But super bad location though. Far from everything.

Luxor which reflects the Egyptian culture.

The Stratosphere. Located on the far north of the Strip.

Now for hotels in downtown Las Vegas. Sahara which is like Middle-Eastern themed.

Now that is one ugly Hilton. Hahahaha.

Circus Circus. It was one of the best themed hotels. The entrance of the hotel was the Big Top of a circus.

I shall go ahead and skip the entire Grand Canyon entry for now because there's far too many photos to post for tha too.

Dinner on Day 2 was at the Rainforest Cafe. They used to have it at Liang Court but it closed. =( The theme was really good with the animals coming to live, fog and even a thunderstorm every 30 mins or so.
We bought Krispy Kreme Doughnuts at the Luxor! =)

The bathroom.

Damn good but expensive food.

On the 3rd day, we went shopping! I spent over $200 there. >.<

The rest of the Las Vegas sights. The company has its own drive! But not too big a deal because there were roads called "MGM" and "Paris" which were the roads leading up to the hotels. You get it right?

We had complimentary tickets to go up to the top of the Eiffel Tower.

Nightview of Las Vegas.

Ended the day with dinner at Margaritaville.

My mum ordered the 45oz margarita just so that we can bring the glass home. -.-' But the 3 of us managed to finish it. I think I drank half of it. =x

We ordered mainly appetizers because we had a really late lunch like around 2pm. Oh, what shopping can do to a person.

Alright, off to bed! Work tonight. Sigh. Bye!
