Japan May 2008 Day 7 & 8

Day 7- 6 May 2008

Ok.. So this is view from my room.. It's on the 2nd storey so nothing much to see.. Anyway, the hotel is super old and the lift is super small.. 2 person go in with 2 luggage and that's it liaoz.. No more space.. Haha..

Some scenery from outside the breakfast place.. Forgot to take picture of the breakfast.. Haha..

Ooh.. We decided to stop by at Holland and visit their flower garden.. Haha.. Man.. I love spring.. The flowers are like huge and fat lah.. Look at my grandma's artistic pose lah.. Haha..

Hehe.. Lo and behold! Mount Fuji! We took the express plane back from Holland and told the pilot to let us parachute down to the base of Mt. Fuji! Haha.. We're like damn lucky can as it was foggy and dark yesterday..

Oh yeah.. We stopped by at a rest stop and they have this cute potty area for kids.. Mini toilet bowl and dunno what the guy's one is called.. Haha..

Drove on to Tokyo Disney Resort after that.. The whole road was jammed up with so many cars all going to see Hu Jin Tao or something.. The Chinese President was heading to the palace to visit the Emperor of Japan.. Security was tight.. Danny told us that going to see the emperor is as good as going to pray to a God.. And do you know the emperor does not have any surname? Because to the Japanese, he is considered a God so gods have no surnames.. Haha..

And, we're finally here! Tokyo Disney Resort! This is my second time here.. Last was 4 years ago.. Haha.. Not much cars today.. But a word of caution from my tour guide, Gary from 4 years ago that I still rmb up till today.. "It's not the cars you should be worried about, it's the tour buses.. 1 car can only take up to 4 people but 1 bus can carry 40 people." So true..

This here is the Tokyo Disneyland Hotel! Opening only on 8 July 2008.. Wonder if I can just fly over to stay 1 night and come home the next.. Haha..

Hehe.. At last a group photo! I'm like so gonna miss all of them.. One of the best tour groups I've ever had..

Yay! I'm finally here! Haha.. And they're having their 25th Anniversary..

The World Bazaar.. Too many things to shop and see.. Haha.. However, just a tip for any theme park go-ers, don't buy souvenirs until the end of the day if not you'll be carrying them around for the whole day..

Hehe.. My fave icon in the whole Disneyland.. The Castle!

Tommorow Land! Again, the queue was damn long for these rides.. About 70 mins of waiting time for each one..

Avril took this picture of me before going in for the Micro Adventures ride.. Damn.. I look funny.. Haha..

We saw a duck at Disneyland! Haha.. Looks damn fake right? But it's real.. It even eats popcorn.. Haha..

Our next ride with the tour group, It's A Small World! We took the same boat together so everybody helped to take pictures.. Hehe..

The Haunted Mansion! Wanted to ride this one a long time ago.. So had to FastPass it.. Haha.. Anyway, lemme explain what FP is.. For rides you see that have a long q, you can use your ticket to book a time slot for example, 1-2pm.. Then you can just return during that time slot and bypass the long q and head in straight for the ride.. Haha.. But you can only FP one ride at a time.. Haha..

Splash Mountain! You have to wait 80 mins for it lah.. And the FP was quite late so we gave this one a miss since we rode the one in HK before le..

Hehe.. Pictures of the castle again.. Man.. The sun was really hot sia..

That's King Ray in Adventureland.. I think he jumped out of the Jungle Book.. Haha..

If you can't see it, it's a orange flavoured sherbet.. Haha.. Perfect for that sudden hot weather..

The Pirates of the Caribbean ride.. Just sit in a boat and see Jack Sparrow hide from the pirates.. Quite fun.. Haha..

Dopey! The other 6 dwarfs were too busy signing autographs and taking pictures.. Haha..

That's Cinderella and her Fairy God Mother.. I think the FGM looks scary.. Haha.. And my grandma wore matching clothes! Haha..

Hehe.. That's Gopeto from Pinocchio.. Haha.. He was so nice to wait for me to reload the batteries in my camera before taking a picture with me again.. Haha..

After that, went to buy a Turkey Leg for lunch and sat along the parade route to wait for the parade to start.. Saw Bao Ling, Catherine and Jennifer as well so we all sat under the blistering sun.. Damn.. I got tanned at Disneyland lah..

I think the lady dressing up as Belle is damn ugly lah.. I mean the Belle in the movie is like super pretty.. And why did they get the real prince to be with her? Haha.. I wanna see the Beast..

I think that the prettiest of all the Disney Princesses was Cinderella.. Haha.. She's usually my least favourite Disney Princess..

I thought Pocahontas was ugly as well.. Haha.. What's up with the standards man? They're so down..

A quick fact.. Do you know Winnie the Pooh is the oldest Disney character? He's even older than Mickey Mouse!

Proudly presented by Do Co Mo.. It's sort of a telecommunications company in Japan.. Think Singtel..

Next ride was Pinocchio's Daring Journey! It's one of the first few Disney movies I watched..

And then it was time for Snow White's Adventures! Haha..

It's a real steamship that brings you around Disneyland for free! But it's real crowded..

Went on this next ride that actually brings you across to another island for some exploring and fun..

This ride is only for the strong and fit.. Haha.. Cos you gotta help paddle the canoe along with the other people.. But it was quite fun even though my arm sorta ached a little back home..

Went for some ultra quick shopping after the canoe rides while my grandma went to book seats for the parade.. Spent like almost $80 on all the souvenirs? Haha.. And dunno why they didn't require my signature or pin number when I swiped my card.. Weird..

The Night Electrical Parade! It was even better than the Day one.. However, my camera ran out of batteries and in the end, I only managed to take until the Winnie the Pooh one.. Damn.. Haha.. Oh.. And I forgot to mention that the weather suddenly turned crazily cold.. One minute it was sun-tan material, the next, frostbite.. Haha.. Weird..

But overall, it was a fun experience at Disneyland! Managed to ride like 9 rides in total which is considered quite good already.. Was the second last group to meet the tour group back at the bus.. Haha..

Then it was back to the hotel for some well-deserved rest.. As it was our last night here in Japan, Danny sang a song for us to bid us good bye.. Checked in to our hotel room and did a survey for the trip.. Went to find Danny to get some chocolate stock that we ordered from him.. Hadn't had dinner after the mad rush.. Headed over to 7-11 and bought instant noodles for dinner..

Managed to stuff everything into my bag to bring back to Singapore.. Was so worried that it would exceed the weight lah.. Haha.. Okie.. Time to sleep..

Day 8- 7 May 2008

The day has finally arrived for us to go home.. =( Had a late breakfast and went up to sleep again.. Haha.. Met the tour group at the lobby.. Some of them had already checked out early as they were extending their stay and had to make their way to their next hotel.. So sad..

This is another hotel opposite ours.. It's named Hotel Chapel Christmas.. Imagine celebrating christmas 24 hours, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.. Not special anymore.. Haha..

Look at how burnt I've become.. Haha..

The hotel had specially catered a bus for us to go to the nearest shopping mall for some last minute shopping and to kill time.. Things were rather cheap there but gotta control myself not to buy anymore stuff as my luggage was in a dire situation of exploding any minute.. Haha..

But we saw this store there and I couldn't resist not buying anything.. Haha..

Met the group back at 215pm and headed to the airport for check in.. My heart was beating like crazy upon lifting my luggage onto the weighing scale.. You'll never believe how much it weighed- 19.9kg! Haha.. See? I told you guys you'll never believe it.. Don't have a picture to prove it.. Haha.. But I really thanked the Lord for it..

Ok.. So we said our goodbyes to Danny before heading in.. I said farewell to my Grandma before going in as well as she would be staying on in Japan to stay with her friend.. =( It was a sad sad moment for all of us.. Bye Danny and thanks for all your jokes and stories through out the trip!
Had like 3 hours to kill before our flight at 6pm so Avril, Bao Ling, Bao Ling's mum, Catherine and Jennifer went shopping around the airport.. Avril said that after all her experience of taking tour groups, she realised Singapore's DFS is one of the most expensive in Asia.. Do you know that a bottle of Absolute in Narita Airport costs only like S$14?!

Headed over to Excelsior Coffee for teatime after that.. Shared some cakes and the Royal Milk Tea tasted horrible.. Haha.. Talked about some stuff and exchanged emails..

Okie.. Time to board the plane.. We were seated like in the second last row of the plane lah.. And I occupied 3 seats altogether cos no one was sitting there at all.. Haha.. Catherine moved over as her area was stuffy.. Didn't sleep or eat on the plane at all.. Haha.. Cos there were too many things to do on the TV.. Watched Enchanted, Hannah Montana and Jumper!

Arrived at the airport around 1230am, said bye bye to everyone and headed home alone in a cab cos no one came to fetch me.. =( However, my brother and sister waited up for me.. Haha.. Consolation prize..

All in all, a wonderful and enjoyable trip with one of the best tour groups ever! Many thanks to my grandma for sponsoring me for this trip if not I'll never be able to go.. Haha.. Hope I'll get the chance to head back to Japan soon.. And this marks the end of this long long entry..

By the way, that's all the presents I bought from Japan.. Hehe..
