Hello all!
Last meetup with 306 on Saturday.. Cherie suggested Marina Barrage and so we decided to give the place a visit.. Weilun was in Brunei for training and couldn't join us.. =( Picked Beilin, Sarah and Ayuni up first before heading over.. Pretty easy to find the place and what's more, parking and admission was free! Haha..
Welcome to the Marina Barrage!
The girls decided to have ice cream because they didn't have lunch.. Poor things..
First stop, we visited the Viewing Pad.. The words and signs were poorly glued onto the structure in the entire Marina Barrage premise.
Oil refineries, ships, rocks, sea etc.
Long long bridge..
So touristy! Haha..
Ice Cream Ice Cream Ice Cream..
Poor Sarah got cut off.. Haha..
Self Takes..
More self takes.. Haha..
Headed into the main building where it housed some spiral stairway up onto the deck and alot of fountains.. Haha..
My legs look very long here.. Haha..
Nice eh? Haha.. Early sunset plus a big bunch of children playing at the fountain area..
Er.. I dunno the significance of the eight.. Haha..
I think this view would be damn pretty at night.. Haha..
Hello strangers! Haha.. Why all walking so far apart eh?
Yay!
Haha.. Beilin told me to mimic the statue and so I did..
Cheeky Sarah crept behind the unsuspecting Beilin and took the picture tgt with her.. Haha..
On the way to fetch Cherie! Yay! It got us all in.. Haha..
Cherie has arrived! Cheese!
Went up the spiral staircase and took a photo with the mirrors opposite.. A tour group was shadowing us and we overhead the tour leader talking about the spiral staircase shaped in a 69 figure.. I'm just wondering how are people gonna run when it starts raining.. Haha..
Another shot that would have looked real pretty at night..
Awww.. This shot is so nice! Haha..
Praying nuns heading up the hill.. Haha..
Setting up the cameras for pictures on the grass..
There were 3 cameras on timer.. Press and run!
Awww.. So demure.. Haha..
Sepia..
Went into the Sustainable Singapore Gallery next.. Beilin stole one of the bottles.. Haha..
A tale in time..
Mirror again! Haha.. After all these years, we still love mirror shots..
Beilin told me to pose with this round thing.. Haha.. Dunno what to do..
Peek-a-boo!
The pretty showroom with the pretty bubbly lightbulbs..
And Singapore finally has NEWater! Yippee! Haha..
Next showroom was this green forest-like room..
It housed this really cool pillar so we took turns to pose with it.. Cherie..
Me.. Sarah extra lah.. Haha..
Beilin's.. Hug hug..
High Five!
Beilin and Cherie were playing with this gadget that allowed you to press items that you wanted in future in your dream neighbourhood..
And it will appear in the screen opposite you..
Some model depicting how water was pumped and transformed etc.
So blue.. Haha.. Cool..
Eh.. I dunno what showroom this was.. Haha..
All in all, Marina Barrage is a must- see tourist attraction for all Singaporeans.. It's new, it's pretty and it's free.. Haha..
Drove over to Suntec for dinner at Ministry of Food..
Drink tea drink tea..
Sarah ordered some Wasabi Seafood Salad to share.. It was a portion for 1 but it could feed at least 4.. Haha..
Sarah's Spicy Miso Ramen..
My Omelette Soba.. My first time eating hot soba! Haha..
Hello Cherie! Haha.. Some bento thing which I've forgotten the name off.. =p
Ayuni's Tofu Avocado Salad..
Beilin's something bento as well.. I've completely forgotten the name.. Haha..
And for dessert, some red bean + green tea + Japanese dumplings.. Very nice!
Mango Sundae! Beilin said the ice cream tasted like baby milk powder.. Haha.. Very nice as well..
As usual, I like to take profile pictures of people.. Haha.. Beilin's..
Cherie's..
Ayuni's.. Nice haircut girl!
Sarah's..
Money time.. The girls treated me to the meal.. Thank You! =)
Oh btw, Sarah's our money nanny.. Haha.. Pay by card, collect money, count money on most of our outings.. Haha..
Headed over to Marina Square to collect my windbreaker.. Sarah had to leave early cos she had a flight to Moscow that night and had to go home to prepare.. =( Anyway, I was so lucky cos Winter Time had already pulled down their shutters halfway.. =) The following pictures will show how cold Marina Square's toilets really are.. Haha..
Haha.. Nah.. They just wanted to pose with my jacket..
Anyway, it was to Coffee Club for chilling.. They served the biggest mudpie I've ever seen.. Look at the sheer size of it compared to Xinyi's hand..
We took lots of pictures that day (and a super duper nice group picture) but they're all in Xinyi's camera and I'm told that I have to wait at least 1 year for the pictures.. Haha.. We also headed down to the basement and found this cute little drawing corner where we started sketching drawings.. All in all, it was a pretty good meetup.. I'm gonna miss you all too! =(
Plan was actually to meet Cousin, Amber and Colleen after sending the Hai Sing friends home but it got cancelled in the end.. So back home to sleep.. My legs were aching from the whole evening of driving.. Haha..
Ok.. Countdown 12 hours to my flight.. I'm gonna eat dinner now and continue packing my bags.. See ya later!
