OSIP Part 2~!

this post is dedicated to the OSIP interview.. think i didnt talk more about it just now so better expand it now.. haha.. well, basically, all 7 of us were interviewed together and Aloysius Lee started off by telling us who was going where.. Matthew and Gwen were going to Four Seasons Langkawi, Katheryn was going to Four Seasons Hong Kong, Yihui was Four Seasons Shanghai and Carine, Tze Ye and I were applying to Mandarin Oriental Sanya.. he confirmed with us whether our parents knew that we were applying and whether we were ready to set aside at least $2000 for living expenses there..

other questions included whether we can all speak Chinese, whether or not we were willing to accept going to other OSIP places just in case the one we wanted was full or not available etc.. then Aloysius Lee broke a bad news to us.. Mandarin Oriental Sanya may not be able to open by September 2007 to accept us into the resort due to some building construction issues.. diaoz.. this is what u get for applying to a brand new resort.. but at least he promised us that he will transfer us to Gloria Resorts Cactus Resorts Sanya or something of a similar standard as Mandarin Oriental meaning 5 Star Hotels.. then the shooting of questions started.. basically i thot they were all normal questions that just wanted straight forward answers..

there was one question where he asked what if the hotel over there were to change their minds and throw us into the housekeeping and stewarding department for the entire 5 months there, what will we do? everybody replied that they will accept the fact and stated their reasons why.. actually i didnt mind housekeeping as that is actually the first department which i want to start in.. so my reason for his question was "Cos I like to see clean rooms.." diaoz.. wth.. and he and Mariah gave me that comedic look.. then he asked me when i was free.. and i stupidly went to say Monday after 3pm.. diaoz.. then he asked me to meet him at his office on Monday at 5pm.. i'm gonna clean his office.. well done Yan Wan! u and ur big fat mouth.. ur're a genius.. sheezz.. i asked if he was serious and he replied do i look like i'm kidding? oh well.. clean lor.. i think i'm quite fortunate compared to some others that day who were put on probation and had to get only As and Bs for their this sem results to be accepted into OSIP.. i agree with Aloysius Lee's and Mariah's reason why they should get those kinds of results.. cos over there, our results are the oni yard stick by which the hotel can judge us by.. they cant possibly know who we are right? so they can oni depend on our results..

another question which i thot made the whole room shook was when they asked how are you going to let your frustration out whenever u are angry.. i said that since i like the outdoors, i'll probably go to the beach to run or snorkel or suntan and Aloy Lee started shaking his head so violently lah.. scare the hell out of me what i say wrong sia.. then he said that all of us on OSIP are NOT TO GO NEAR LAGOON/ SWIMMING POOL/ BEACH/ SEA at all.. its by some contract with the school and the hotel, if anybody over in the country catches us near any water or beach, we'll be sent back to Singapore immediately.. haha.. but he told me that i did not say anything wrong lah just that my answer sparked a reminder in him to tell us this regulation.. haha.. so i replied that i'll run on land instead then.. haha..

so yeah thats pretty much about OSIP interview.. haha.. aren't u guys lucky that u dun have to go thru that stressful 1Hr15mins of ur life.. gosh.. hope that i'll be able to pass it then and go for my OSIP.. i really have no mood to apply for local SIP liaoz.. oh.. and good luck to Sandy for your interview with Gallery Hotel on Tuesday!! u can do it de~! haha..
